Vincent 'Rocco" Vargas is not your typical actor on set. That's because he is one of a new brand of heroes among soldiers, wounded warriors and veterans. He’s known for his gritty and humorous insider’s take on going to war, losing your buddies, survivor’s guilt and working to get it right once you’re out of uniform. A veteran of three combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 75th Ranger Regiment’s 2nd Battalion, based at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, and current Army Reserve Drill Instructor.
He starred in the veteran-produced feature film Range 15, as well a Drinkin’ Bros Live: The Shaved Eagle Tour and Helen Keller vs. Nightwolves. He also wrote, starred in and produced The Long Way Back, a short, semi-autobiographical drama on survivor’s guilt and suicide prevention. His next role is in FX’s Mayans MC, a spinoff of the popular cable-TV crime series Sons of Anarchy, now in production. You can also follow his latest venture "Brothers in Arms" each week on the History Channel.
In this episode he joins Robert, Paul Martinez, and Erich Martin.

EP-159 | That Others May Live – Air Force Pararescueman (PJ)
Tuesday Nov 13, 2018
Tuesday Nov 13, 2018
When an Airman needs saving, it’s the PJs duty to do everything they can to bring them home. As members of Air Force Special Operations, Pararescue (PJ) specialists rescue and recover downed aircrews from hostile or otherwise unreachable areas. These highly trained experts perform rescues in every type of terrain and partake in every part of the mission, from search and rescue, to combat support to providing emergency medical treatment, in order to ensure that every mission is a successful one.
A lifelong student of living, Matt Schollard believes the purpose of existence is experience, exploration of Self, and evolution. Raised globally, his exposure to a multitude of cultures at an early age left a lasting impact on his quest to find 'meaning' in life. Inspired by Eastern philosophies, punk rock, yoga, windsurfing, and the overwhelming commonalities he identified in the people of Earth, Matt shaped his own unique guiding principles that have lit the way along a diverse and inspiring path.
Upon reaching legal adulthood, after an unfortunate skateboarding misunderstanding forced him to leave Australia, Matt decided that he needed to seek out the 'hardest job in the world' to test his potential. Following his will & wind, he found himself in the years-long quest to become a US Air Force Pararescueman (PJ).

EP-158 | Warfighter Fitness & Endurance - Creating the Ultimate Warrior
Tuesday Nov 06, 2018
Tuesday Nov 06, 2018
The military strives to create the elite warrior. Excellent physical fitness, stamina, and endurance are at the foundation of building the ultimate fighting machine. In this episode we talk about some of what former U.S. Army Captain and Fitness Instructor Stephanie Lincoln has learned in how to create good health and fitness.
Stephanie Walker is the founder and CEO of Fire Team Whiskey. She has been featured in NBC News, myfitnesspal, SparkPeople, BestLife, and Women Fitness Magazine. She was inspired by her work with the Florida Army National Guard Wellness Program and also her many years working with Military Medical. She observed the steady decline of the fitness and health of Military Service Members over the last 10 years. Stephanie created and published a unique eating plan, a specialized line of nutritional shakes, bars, and other performance supplements and a fitness program that requires no equipment and minimal time. Fire Team Whiskey® encompasses all of those intangible things that a Military Member and First Responder is driven by: Duty, Comradery, and Mission. http://www.fireteamwhiskey.com
